I am finnishing my first DIY stereo-amplifier project. Before I hook the new build to my expensive speakers, I'd like to test the basic electrical behaviour of my amp. So I thought, I'd buy some el cheapo speakers on eBay, but someone else recommended this: Non-Inductive Dummy Load Resistor or building a simply dummy load myself using these: Dayton Audio DNR-8.0 8 Ohm 10W Precision Audio Grade Resistor

Now I ask myself, whether the Re:load Pro could do the same job. Nowehre I see any mention of the resistance? Is that freely programmable? Or am I on the wrong train?

I'm afraid not - the Re:load is designed for testing DC loads, while a speaker is an AC load. Since the Re:load can only limit current in one direction, it won't work for this application.

I really enjoy repairing and restoring old solid-state monster amps and receivers from the 80's. Dummy load resistors are okay, but are expensive at the load requirements of these huge old amps and a PITA to use (I have burn scars as testimony). There are hacks with 100w lightbulbs too, of course. But something like the Re:load Pro for AC loads would be amazingly useful.
