I followed directions and copy pasted the link into the Additional boards manger list. Clicked OK. However, the Tsunami does not show up in the Boards Manager list. Is there any other method available for specifying the hardware definitions.
I am using Arduino version 1.6.5 and Windows 10

Perhaps copy the URL you used here, so we can look for obvious typos or mistakes?

Can you please have a look in C:\Users\WINDOWSUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Arduino15\packages\ and tell me what you see there? There should be a folder called "arachnidlabs".

In the path name you specified above I only got as far as C:\Users\Howard. There was no sub directory named AppData. Hence I couldn't find a "arachnidlabs". folder

Windows 7 shows the same behavior as Widows 10. No Tsunami in board list and no AppData Sub directory.

You will definitely have an AppData directory somewhere on your system, though it may be somewhere else. I'm not a Windows expert, but Windows search will probably find it. It's also possible it's there, but hidden - you may have to simply enter the full path in the location bar.

Just rereading your initial message - did you follow the second step after adding the URL? You need to open the board manager, select "Arachnid Labs AVR boards" and click "Install".

Hello Nick,
I could not perform the "install" instruction. Your instructions said select Tsunami in the Board Manager list. However, because Tsunami did not appear in the Board Manager List I could not highlight it or select "install".
What version of the Arduino IDE die you use when developing the software?

After entering the URL, what entries do you see in the boards manager? There should be one called "Arachnid Labs boards" at the end of the list. Can you post a screenshot of the end of the list?

How do you attached a file to a reply in this forum?
What version of the Arduino IDE did you use when developing Tsunami?

I've been using 1.6.4, but it should work fine on any version that has the field for board manager URLs.
What entries do you see in the board manager list? The end of the list should look like this:

No progress in uploading a screen shot of the Boards Manager Dialog. I haven't found the Windows 10 Snipping Tool and when I tried to upload a Print Screen Screen Shot your forum software says "New Users can not upload images".

I've adjusted your account so you can post screenshots.
If you can simply tell me what entries are in the list, that would work too.

Just as a reference point, I had no issues installing Tsunami to the board manager in Arduino 1.6.5 on Windows 10.
As suggested, the AppData folder will be hidden by default. You can access it by typing C:\Users\Howard\AppData into the location bar - or you can turn on the Show Hidden File option under View menu, Options, then View tab.

You should be seeing a packages folder in there, so you haven't completed the Install step in Boards Manger.
Go back to Tools -> Board ... -> Boards Manager
And make sure you wait for it to download all the data (there is a progress bar at the bottom of the window), then scroll down and find the entry for Arachnid Labs, and if you click on that you will see an Install button (or Remove once installed).

My problem is after pasting the URL link into the "Additional Boards Manager" dialog and clicking on OK there is mo download. There is no progress bar and nothing is installed in the "Boards Manager" dialog. The only thing that happens when click on OK is the "Preferences" dialog immediately disappears and the Arduino IDE Start page reappears.
Hence why is Arachnid package not being downloaded and what should be done to get Arduino to download the Arachnid package.
Here are two screen shots of my "Preferences" dialog. Two screen shots are required to show the full URL.

The download doesn't happen when you add the URL to the preferences page; you need to open the board manager as the instructions and Kean say; when you do that it will download the boards list, and you can install the Arachnid Labs boards.
